WhatsApp has been testing the feature of transferring chat history between Android and iOS for a while, and today the feature is finally here officially.
Until now, it has only been possible to transfer conversation history between ecosystems with the help of some third-party data transfer tools, but these methods are usually not free, and are difficult to use.
The Android to iPhone method was the only one on the WhatsApp support site, and you'll need to use the Move to iOS tool on Android to do this. You will also need to be on the latest version of WhatsApp on both sending and receiving devices. You must also use the same phone number as your old phone or change it before transferring. The received iPhone must also be reset to factory settings or new.
Based on the steps outlined in the instructions, WhatsApp worked with Apple to restore its Move to iOS app to successfully transfer WhatsApp data to any iOS phone.
According to the support page, you will be able to transfer account information, profile picture, individual and group chats, chat history, chat media, and WhatsApp settings. You will not be able to transfer WhatsApp call history or push messages peer-to-peer.
